Performer

Zeze Xue began his piano studies at the age of three. By age five, he had performed his first solo recital in his hometown, Changsha, in southern China. He played as soloist with the Hunan Symphony Orchestra at age fifteen, and was admitted to the Prayner Conservatory in Vienna, studying with pianist Joo Ann Koh. Zeze spent two years in Vienna, and continued his studies in the United States at the University of Washington as a student of Craig Sheppard. He won the school’s 2016 Concerto Competition, and performed the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 prior to graduation with the UW Symphony Orchestra. Zeze then entered the Master of Music degree program at Manhattan School of Music as a student of Solomon Mikowsky and William Wolfram, and graduated in May 2019. His performing experience includes concerts and recitals in various halls and musical centers in China, Europe and the United States, including the Ehrbar Hall in the city of Vienna and the renowned Stern Auditorium of Carnegie Hall in New York City. Most recently, Zeze performed as the soloist for Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra in Burien, Washington. He was granted the O1-Visa in March of 2021; this is given to Individuals with Extraordinary Ability or Achievement by the United States Citizens and Immigration Services, a rare authorization which allows him to continue his music performance in the United States.
