Soheil Nasseri Solo Recital at Merkin Hall (Site)
Thursday September 20, 2018, 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
$45California native Soheil Nasseri has performed in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including Berlin’s Philharmonie, London’s Southbank Centre, Tokyo’s Musashino Center, Théâtre Fémina in Bordeaux, Florence’s Teatro Comunale, and St. Petersburg’s Philharmonia. In addition to the virtuosic solo version of Brahms’ Hungarian Dances 1-10, this concert features the last work of Viktor Ullmann, written in Theresienstadt in 1944 shortly before his murder at Auschwitz. Mr. Ullmann was once a student of Eduard Steuermann, a teacher of Mr. Nasseri’s own mentor Jerome Lowenthal. The Sonata No. 7 is an uplifting work, dedicated to Ullmann’s children and featuring themes from nursery rhymes.
