Richard Dowling performs the complete piano works of Joplin in two recitals, at 2 PM and 7 PM, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the composer’s death in New York on April 1, 1917. Mr. Dowling is the first pianist to perform the complete Joplin cycle in public. His 3-CD set of the complete Joplin works was recently released by Rivermont Records. The Part 1 recital features a variety of 27 rags, waltzes, and marches selected from Joplin’s 53 piano works.
