New School Tishman Auditorium

Two World Premieres open the 2023/2024 season of the Mannes Orchestra: Arjan Singh Dogra’s Live Salmon and JL Marlor’s Saltwater Lung. Arjan is a student in the Mannes Masters in Composition program, while JL is a recent graduate.

This groundbreaking season opener includes Pulitzer Prize and Grammy® Award composer Kevin Puts’ Marimba Concerto, featuring percussion soloist and Mannes Student, Katherine Fortunato. The program is bookended by Brahms Symphony No. 3 in F. It is his only “cyclic” symphony, with material from not one, but two previous movements playing a major role in the finale.
