Ha! Concert Series, featuring Émerillon Trio | carte blanche

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
For this “carte blanche” concert, the Trio Émerillon offers an event in two parts.

If the first one will adopt a more didactic formula, as the performers of the Trio Émerillon and the composers Kévin Gironnay and Félix-Antoine Coutu will interact with the public, the second part will be closer to a conventional concert. In the latter, Trio Émerillon will perform “Quand la faim me pogne, les sons émis par mon ventre” by Félix-Antoine Coutu and ” Tseu Jan ” by Kévin Gironnay, both commissioned by Codes d’Accès for the trio, and “Michigan Trio” by Philippe Manoury, an emblematic work of the contemporary repertoire.

With this concert-workshop, Émerillon wants to shine a light one two French-Canadian composers, Félix-Antoine Coutu and Kévin Gironnay. Our discussions will focus on the composer / performer collaboration processes that have been developed for these two commissions, on the various contemporary techniques used in the presented works, and on the relationship to improvisation, through and guided by electronics.
