Harlem Stage and Carnegie Hall co-present saxophone virtuoso, composer, and bandleader Lakecia Benjamin. This free performance celebrates her expansive new album, Phoenix, produced by multi-Grammy–winning drummer and composer Terri Lyne Carrington. Benjamin “plays jazz that is sprinkled with the rich flavors of funk and soul. She’s a crafty traditionalist who remains in step with the rhythms of the young generation” (The New Yorker).
