mise-en Perform Works of Heinz Hollinger, at Tenri Cultural Institute (Site)

$10 – $20New York-based ensemble mise-en will perform numerous works by renowned Swiss oboist, conductor, and composer Heinz Holliger as part of its PORTRAIT concert series. The works featured in this program span spanning 1971 – 2012, giving audiences a glimpse into the evolution and diversity of Holliger’s work as a composer over time. The pieces, ranging from soloist to more expansive works, highlight Holliger’s mastery of unorthodoxy.

About the PORTRAIT series
The PORTRAIT concert series celebrates landmark works of distinguished composers of contemporary music. This series is aimed towards presenting the music of such composers, including innovative and underrepresented works, to a wide spectrum of listeners who are engaged in or curious about contemporary art music from around the globe. Previous PORTRAIT series concerts have profiled composers such as Bent Sørensen (Denmark), Hans Abrahamsen (Denmark), Lukas Ligeti (Austria), Michael Jarrell (Switzerland) and Isang Yun (Korea/Germany).
