Andrew Vinther, 21, began his studies of double bass at age 8. A student of Joseph Conyers, Vinther attends the Juilliard School and is pursuing a Bachelor of Music. Vinther is a multifaceted instrumentalist who has performed with Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra All Stars under Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the Juilliard Orchestra, Juilliard Jazz ensembles, and Juilliard 415. Cross-genre expansion and interdisciplinary works are at the forefront of his interest, aided by the endless versatility of the double bass.
