Debussy’s 24 Préludes for solo piano are, as written, both precise and suggestive—a contemplative blueprint from which gifted interpreters bring forth a multitude of shades and emotions. In a concert originally scheduled for the 2020–2021 season, French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet performs this collection of succinct musical tableaux, each painting its own unique picture in just a few minutes.
