FreeSchubert’s Schwanengesang is among his most moving and powerful creations. In his CMS debut, American tenor Matthew Polenzani performs this mystical song cycle for the first time in his distinguished career. Bringing the evening to a close, Robert Schumann’s transformative Piano Quintet, dedicated to his wife Clara, is the embodiment of lyricism and originality.
