Works for Cello and Piano by Famous Czech Composers, at Bohemian National Hall (Site)

Czech Center New York presents accompanying concert of its exhibition Famous Czech Composers, prepaired in collaboration with the National Museum. Pianist Isabel Keleti and cellist Tomáš Jamník will perform pieces by all four composers included in the exhibition: Leoš Janáček, Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák and Bohuslav Martinů.

Opening remarks will be presented by the curator of the exhibition, Dr. Veronika Vejvodová from the Antonín Dvořák Museum – National Museum.

Bedřich Smetana: Chanson (arr. for Cello and Piano)

A. Dvořák: Silent Woods

A. Dvořák: Songs My Mother Taught Me (arr. for Cello and Piano)

B. Martinů: Romance (US premiere)

B. Martinů: Variations On A Slovak Folk Song

The Romance is a US premiere of this piece by Bohuslav Martinů. It had its world (Europe) premiere on January 10, 2023 by Frank Peter Zimmermann in London. More info here.
