The Vienna Piano Trio, one of the world’s leading chamber ensembles, offers a veritable feast for the chamber music lover as they make their long-awaited 92Y debut.

Haydn’s ‘sturm und drang’ E Minor Trio, which ends in a rollicking gypsy rondo, provides a wonderful introduction to the tight-knit ensemble playing of these three close friends before we are confronted by the white-hot intensity of Brahms’ C Minor Trio. After intermission, we are treated to Beethoven’s best-loved Piano Trio, the “Archduke”, which will show off the burnished, focused tone of the Trio’s new cellist, Clemens Hagen.
