Thursday June 22, 2017, 1:00 am - 4:00 am

Sarah Slonim, Piano

“Sarah certainly has a wonderful flair of elegance and a delightful touch, and such a flair of diplomacy as well.” – Johnny O’Neal

Sarah Slonim has made a name for herself on the New York City jazz scene as “a fantastic young pianist with an original concept and a delightful feel” (-Spike Wilner). Musicians and audiences often note Sarah’s beautiful touch and soulful and swinging approach to the music. Her band, the Sarah Slonim Project, plays every other Thursday night at Smalls Jazz Club and performs at other venues throughout the city.

Sarah was born and raised in Seattle and graduated with a B.M. in Jazz Studies and a B.A. in Comparative Cultures and Politics from Michigan State University in 2011.

In addition to performing, Sarah is a dedicated educator. She works to provide mentorship and instruction to the next generations of musicians and increase audience appreciation. She has conducted assemblies, workshops, and clinics throughout the United States for learners of all ages and experience levels. She also teaches a large studio of private piano students in the NYC area.
