Kirill Karabits, who began his conducting career with the Budapest Festival Orchestra under the tutelage of Iván Fischer, leads from the podium with masterful pianist Mikhail Pletnev joining as the soloist for the darkly virtuosic Second Piano Concerto. The evening concludes with the driving rhythms and high drama of the Symphonic Dances.
