Resilient Heart: Charles Williamson, Tenor, and Catherine Miller, Piano, at Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church
Saturday October 20, 2018, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm$30
Resilient Heart, a collaborative concert supporting the Lafayette Choir
Featuring works by R. Schumann, Damien Sneed, R. Strauss, and H. Leslie Adams
Charles Williamson, tenor and Catherine Miller, piano
Resilient Heart combines a distinctive collection of thought-provoking love songs ranging from the 19th century European romanticism of Schumann’s Liederkreis Op. 24, to Damien Sneed’s 21st century arrangements of the American Spiritual, which include elements of classical composition as well as gospel and jazz influences. Linked through various themes of devotion, struggle, uncertainty, hope, spirituality, and love, these songs and poems uniquely remind us of love’s resiliency and the heart’s power to prevail.
Resilient Heart is performed in support of the Lafayette Choir at The Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church (LAPC). A portion of the proceeds raised will go towards the procurement of new choral robes. Follow the link below to learn more about LAPC, her ministries, and her mission of social justice and advocacy.
Immediately following the concert, there will be a reception and tricky tray raffle.
