Open Rehearsal: Yuja Wang Performs Shostakovich, at Lincoln Center

Thursday June 11, 9:45 am - 11:45 am

Yuja Wang stars in Shostakovich’s witty, sardonic, high-spirited piano concerto. Harmonium, a choral tour de force, promises an astounding experience that places you at the center of life’s most elemental forces — love and death. Our hotspots festival concludes with a focus on New York with Sarah Kirkland Snider’s Project 19 commission.

Part of our hotspots festival, which shines a light on three hotspots of classical music innovation: Berlin, Reykjavík, and New York.

Program to Include
Sarah Kirkland Snider: New work (World Premiere–New York Philharmonic Commission)
Shostakovich: Concerto No. 1 for Piano, Trumpet, and Strings
  John Adams: Harmonium

  Jaap van Zweden, Conductor
  Yuja Wang, Piano
  Christopher Martin, Trumpet
  Concert Chorale of New York
  James Bagwell, director

All Open Rehearsals are “working” rehearsals and therefore the program may not be played in its entirety. Additionally, we cannot guarantee the appearance of any soloist at an Open Rehearsal.
