Open Rehearsal: Emanuel Ax Performs Beethoven, at Lincoln Center (Site)

Thursday October 24, 2019, 9:45 am - 11:45 am

Emanuel Ax solos in Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto, which is sure to captivate you with its elegance, luscious slow movement, and spirited finale. Stéphane Denève brings his special touch for French repertoire to the Philharmonic’s performance of works by fellow-Frenchmen: Roussel’s muscular symphony and Ravel’s shattering homage-with-a-twist to “The Waltz King,” Johann Strauss II.

Program to Include

  Jennifer Higdon: blue cathedral

  Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 1

  Roussel: Symphony No. 3

  Ravel: La Valse

All Open Rehearsals are “working” rehearsals and therefore the program may not be played in its entirety. Additionally, we cannot guarantee the appearance of any soloist at an Open Rehearsal.
