Noree Chamber Soloists American RomanticsWalter Bruno Auditorium at Lincoln Center Wednesday, October 17, 2018, 7:30 PM
Noree Chamber Soloists presents an exciting glimpse of rich American art music in its season-opening concert. The eclectic program comprises long-beloved works such as Barber’s Adagio from String Quartet and less familiar gems such as Corigliano’s short yet impactful Black November Turkey and Bolcom’s Three Rags for String Quartet. Lucy Shelton brings her unmatched dynamic interpretation of contemporary American songs by Ruth Crawford Seeger, Roy Harris, and Charles Ives. The program also salutes Dvořák, who celebrated the richness of American music in his “American” String Quartet and “New World” Symphony in 1893, when the American music scene was just about to blossom.
