Pianist, composer and arranger Mark Soskin leads an outstanding trio featuring the great drummer Al Foster. Soskin’s career starts in San Francisco where he performed and recorded with Pete Escovedo and his daughter, percussionist Sheila E in the group Azteca and where he was introduced to Sonny Rollins. His fruitful collaboration with Rollins lasted 14 years and produced a number of critically acclaimed recordings. In 1981, Soskin returned to New York City where he has been an active sideman, leader and educator. He has performed and recorded with artists including Joe Henderson, Randy Brecker, Eddie Henderson, Stanley Turrentine, Herbie Mann, John Abercrombie, Slide Hampton and Bobby Watson among many others. Soskin has eleven recordings as leader, three as co-leader and seventy recordings as a sideman.
