My Songs Without Words – A Valentine’s Day Concert with MARK MARKHAM (pianist)
Pianist Mark Markham is known around the world for his twenty-year collaboration with the legendary soprano Jessye Norman, as well as his partnerships with a new generation of stars, and his solo performances in recital and with orchestra. This virtual program is a recital of solo piano pieces that are “songs” without words representing a range of composers from Bach, Bartok and Mendelssohn to Schubert, Scriabin and Schumann. Moreover, included in this program is music by Brahms, Janacek and Chopin. The program will also include Mr. Markham’s personal improvisations on the Great American Songbook and the results are different on every occasion.
