Haydn/Korngold at the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival (Hamptons)
Sunday July 29, 2018, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm$45
Korngold was hailed as the musical descendant of Brahms. WWII intervened in his trajectory, so he brought Germanic Romanticism to California, shaping film soundtracks for generations to come. Similarly, Haydn exported his Germanic Classicism to London, wowing audiences with his effortless invention. Both exemplify the huge cultural impact artists make when they cross borders.
