A rarely performed early gem by Franz Schubert opens the radiant fifth season of Summer Evenings. Following a youthful thread, the bucolic First Piano Quartet by the 34-year-old Antonín Dvořák leads to a striking Sextet for string quartet, bass, and a virtuoso piano part, composed and performed by Felix Mendelssohn at the astonishing age of 15.
