Geri was a great American jazz pianist, composer, and recording artist. In addition to her career as a performer and bandleader, Allen was an associate professor of music and the director of the Jazz Studies Program at the University of Pittsburgh — and the founding artistic director of NJPAC’s All-Female Jazz Residency, now called the Geri Allen Jazz Camp. This all-star group pays tribute to one of the leading ladies of jazz.
